Latest Volunteering Opportunities

YOUNG EPILEPSY (PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS THE NATIONAL CENTRE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH EPILEPSY NCYPE) are looking for Christmas Stars! They have been given the wonderful opportunity to promote their Reach for the Stars campaign and sell their Christmas merchandise at the Belfry Shopping Centre around Santa's Grotto and Ice Rink. They need volunteers to help encourage people to take part in Ice Skating, getting their face painted or to buy some Christmas Cards! Timings are flexible from Thursday - Sunday. Volunteers must have enthusiasm, a willingness to 'muck in' and work as part of a team and the ability to communicate effectively with the public. A sense of humour and love of the festive season would also be a bonus!

TOGETHER AT CHRISTMAS is led by the Anglican Churches in Merstham, they are inviting people to join them for a special Christmas Day lunch, good company, music and carols and lots of fun!!  Father Christmas will also be there giving gifts to all the guests.  It is especially for those who might otherwise be on their own or for families who want to be with other people and those who can't afford to celebrate Christmas this year.  They are looking for a variety of volunteers including a Kitchen Supervisor/Cook to supervise the cooking of a traditional three course Christmas Day Lunch for approx. 80 people in a fully equipped school kitchen by a team of untrained volunteers.  You will need a Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate for this role. They are also looking for Drivers to pick up and take guests home, people to Escort guests to and from venue, Table Hosts, people to prepare and serve lunch and a Father Christmas.  You will need photo ID and proof of address for all opportunities.

BREAKTHROUGH BREAST CANCER is a pioneering charity saving lives and changing futures, with the aim of removing the fear of breast cancer for good.  They are looking for Fundraising and Awareness Volunteers.
